As my home for the past 13 years, Columbus, OH, will always be an important part of my life. For this reason, I have made it my priority to advocate on behalf of its residents throughout my education at Ohio State. Interning at Defend Our Future allowed me to continue advocating for the state I love through learning even more about environmental policy, and engaging with the Columbus community about how climate change affects our day-to-day lives.

As an intern with Defend Our Future, you will learn the importance of advocating for change by reaching out to Ohio residents, planning events that engage your community, and promoting constructive dialogue with your peers. You will establish an even stronger relationship with your community, and have the opportunity to engage with people who may be negatively affected by climate change.

Throughout my internship experience, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse and extraordinary group of interns and volunteers who have helped me to develop personally and professionally. From senators’ offices, to Ohio State’s campus, to the office conference room, we always work as a team. This group of people taught me the value of working together toward bettering our community, and ultimately, our planet.
