Our Nevada team hosted Defend Our Coffee at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf just off the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. The event featured a discussion on climate change impacts on coffee production, small business sustainability and environmental policy. Panelists were coffee roaster and small business owner Owen Carver, New West Economy Consulting’s Managing Principal Jennifer Taylor and UNLV’s Rebel Grounds Cafe manager Austin January. The speakers brought their expertise on coffee roasting, small business, sustainability and environmental policy to the table and educated the audience on how climate change impacts the coffee supply chain. Attendees were happy to participate in a Q&A following the moderated portion of the panel and remained to mingle with speakers, learn more about Defend Our Future and ways they can get involved.
