On the first anniversary of President Trump’s inauguration, Defend students took to the streets, joining hundreds of thousands across the country who spoke out and marched against the administration’s relentless assault on our communities and the environment. They wanted to send a clear message to leaders in Congress and the administration: Stand up for people, not polluters. Over the course of the day, the students gathered more than 600 commitments to act combined at Women’s Marches in Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Columbus, OH; and Philadelphia, PA. Students also brought their own handmade signs in addition to those of Defend.
