Defend Our Future joined Moms Clean Air Force and local Philadelphia-based organizations at a press conference to amplify the recently published NAACP – Clean Air Task Force report, “Fumes Across the Fence-Line,” which highlights the disproportionate impacts of oil and gas pollution on public health in frontline communities. Speakers included Pennsylvania State Representative Donna Bullock, activists from Philly THRIVE and NAACP Philadelphia and our state director, Caroline Burkholder. Caroline spoke about critical EPA funding for states like Pennsylvania that could be cut under the Trump budget plan. The press event was held at DiSilvestro Playground in South Philadelphia.
