Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, United States

At the Rochester Institute of Technology, a colony of bees welcomed students to the climate summit. Plenary sessions covered a wide-range of issues including food sustainability, water impacts of climate change, sustainable engineering and design, and environmental activism. RIT’s senior sustainability advisor, Enid Cardinal, noted the enthusiasm of RIT students who are taking their own initiative to implement sustainable programs on campus – and doing their part in participating in the political process by registering to vote. Defend partnered with Reverb and their Campus Consciousness Tour for a concert featuring rock band Walk the Moon. Volunteers were on hand to engage students and gather commitment cards.
