Defend Our Future Statement on introduction of the Environmental Justice For All Act

(Washington, DC – February 25, 2020) Defend Our Future thanks House Natural Resources Chairman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. A. Donald McEachin (D-VA) for introducing the Environmental Justice for All Act. Their efforts are helping to drive action and raise awareness about the deeply intersectional nature of environmental impacts.

Young people across the country understand that race, class and environmental impacts are inextricably linked. Communities of color and low-income communities are the most vulnerable to climate change impacts, air pollution and water pollution. We cannot solve the greatest environmental challenges facing us today while ignoring broader concerns of civil rights, because environmental impacts do not exist in a vacuum. Defend Our Future stands with and supports McEachin, Grijalva, and community leaders across the country fighting for clean air, a stable climate and a more just future for all.
