Arizona State University Business Administration C-Wing, East Lemon Street, Tempe, AZ, USA

Our Arizona team hosted a panel discussion on climate change and its implications for global security, particularly its impacts on existing conflicts, refugee crises, access to natural resources, and the role of militaries in preventing unrest. Panelists included Arizona State University sustainability professors LaDawn Haglund and Valerie Mueller, International Rescue Committee’s Stanford Prescott, and Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Joe Knott, a Sustainability PhD candidate. The panelists each brought to the conversation different areas of expertise while outlining the challenges and solutions to the climate crisis through a national security lens. Several of the students who engaged in the conversation shared their personal experiences of growing up and living abroad.
