Defend organizers and representatives from area nonprofits led an environmental justice organizing workshop at Temple University. More than 40 students, including high schoolers, learned best practices and strategies for organizing around sustainability issues, writing letters to the editor and gathering commitments to act. Defend organizers led a workshop session to develop action plans for waste and climate justice issues on campus. The event fostered a robust conversation and produced new ideas and energy among the attendees.
